Mendip Basecamp is an award-winning, off-grid family campsite perfect for both campers and campervans. Surrounded by ancient woodland you can pitch where you like, park by your tent and enjoy a campfire. With no no check out time you can leave when you are ready.

We may be off-grid but we still have hot showers, clean flushing toilets, a camp shop, washing up areas, a giant sandpit, toddler play zone, USB charging, wifi and a communal ice-block freezer.

Check in from 4pm and check out whenever you are ready!

The camp cafe is open every day for hot breakfast rolls, fresh croissants, barista coffee, ice-cream and soft drinks and our shop is always open for all the essentials and plenty of treats.

Our licensed country lodge and beer garden serves the best local ciders and ales plus craft pizzas, Pieminister Pies, loaded fries and basket meals. Check out our schedule of free outdoor live music and take advantage of our activity centre and make your stay a real family adventure camp.

Rules: We like to keep things simple and relaxed. As a family campsite we only need a few common sense rules to ensure everyone enjoys their stay at Basecamp. Read our rules and quiet night policy here

Freedom to camp where you like. Choose this option if your group are camping in tents and or campervans (up to 2.7m high)

    Hot showers and flushing loos - an essential luxury.

  • Fire Pits & BBQ's

    Bring your own or rent one of our upcycled fire pits.

  • Dogs allowed

    Well-behaved dogs are allowed. Add them to your booking on the next page.

  • Park by your tent

    There is plenty of space to park next to your tent.

  • On-site camp shop

    Stocking all the essentials items, food, drinks and treats.

  • Food and Drink

    Food and drink available everyday in the Pavilion and Lodge

  • No caravans, trailer tents or motorhomes

  • Off-grid

    We're off-grid - no Electric hooks Ups.

  • No chemical waste

    Please don't use your own facilities.
