We don't have electric hook ups so we recommend bringing battery powered lanterns and power packs to recharge phones. We have USB charge points.
Hot showers and flushing loos
The site has three toilet and shower blocks. All purpose-built with individual cubicles accessed from the outside. We also have larger, family accessible toilet and shower facilities.
Ice pack freezer
We have a freezer for ice packs only.
Water & washing up
There are plenty of drinking water taps around the site. We’ve also provided a few washing up areas, so if you would like to use these you can.
Recycling and waste
We are passionate about the environment. We have a recycling station at the main entrance to the camp so you can recycle any rubbish.
Wifi
There is free wifi available accross the site.
USB charging
We have a few USB charging points in the campsite shop. Items cannot be left unattended.
Campsite shop and cafe
Our reception, camp shop and pop-up cafe, The Pavilion, is open from 8am until 9pm everyday. Enjoy Breakfast Rolls, Pizzas and Fries every day. We also sell locally sourced food and drink as well as camping essentials.
Fire pits and BBQ’s
We have fire pits available for hire. You’re welcome to bring your own off-ground barbecues and fire pits. We have bricks available to raise them. Firewood and charcoal are available to buy.
Friendly dogs allowed
Friendly, quiet dogs are very welcome to join you camping and are charged at £5 per dog, for the duration of your stay. Dogs must be kept on a lead whilst onsite. Customers are responsible for their dogs at all times and are asked to please clean up after them. Irresponsible dog owners are not tolerated. There is livestock in adjacent fields so please keep dogs under control at all times.
Regrettably, dogs are not allowed in our rental tent accommodation.
Dogs are unable to join you on any of our activity sessions, other than frisbee golf. If you are bringing a dog with you, one of your party will have to not take part in activity session to stay with the dog.

Giant sandpit and outdoor games
Our giant sandpit (Sandhenge) is a great fun activity for little and big kids alike! Plus, take part in a range of free outdoor games by the Pavilion.
Ancient woodland and wildlife
The Mendip Hills National Landscape is a hidden gem. Its undulating plateau punctuated by spectacular gorges and rocky outcrops means its a landscape ready for adventure. Our site is well connected by public footpaths and public bridleways as well as some private footpaths only available to Basecamp guests.
Park by your tent
We offer free parking and you can park where you pitch your tent.
Important!
No caravans, trailer tents or motorhomes
Due to low bridge, tight bends, and steep tracks, Basecamp is not accessible to towing vehicles or motorhomes over 2.7m high.
No electric hookups
We're an off-grid site so we don't have any electric hook ups. Bring a torch, a battery pack and a sense of adventure. We do have a few USB chargers if you need to charge your phone.
No chemical waste
We have plenty of toilets, showers and washing up areas. There's no need for you to bring your own. If you have onboard facilities, please empty them at home.
