The largest, independently owned, outdoor activity centre in the South West is right here on Basecamp’s doorstep. Mendip has been delivering adventurous outdoor activities for almost 40 years…Activities are all led by fully qualified instructors who are the best in the business. Whether you are looking for a family-day out or an adrenaline-packed adventure, we guarantee that you won’t be bored at Basecamp.

Target Sports

Have a go at target sports on our purpose-built ranges. Try archery, air rifles and axe throwing. Or, get a group together and battle it out with Archery Active, a unique cross between archery and paintball!

Rock Sports

Go rock climbing and abseiling at our private rocksport quarry, a short, scenic, walk from the campsite (or a 5 min drive). Try caving on site in Sanford Levy (with history dating back to WW2) or drive to Burrington Combe to have a longer adventure under the Mendip Hills.
