Mendip Basecamp is based in North Somerset, in the village of Churchill, near Winscombe and Sandford.
You can park by your pitch, we have plenty of carparking onsite. We do encourage lift sharing where possible. The nearest EV chargers are a 10 minute drive away, at the Touts garage. We are a 15 minute drive from J21 of the M5 and very close to the A38. If you are using a sat nav/google maps find us by searching Mendip Activity Centre, Lyncombe Drive, BS25 5PQ. Follow local roadsigns to Mendip Activity Centre.
We welcome hikers. We are close to the villages of Churchill, Winscombe, Sandford, Cheddar, Banwell and Congresbury. There are plenty of footpaths that surround the Campsite.
We regularly welcome new and seasoned cyclists to Mendip Basecamp. We are a few hundred metres from the Strawberry Line cycle path, a great stop for cyclists completing Lands End to John O’Groats, or those visiting Cheddar Gorge.
Yatton is our closest train station and is a 10 minute taxi, or a 20 minute cycle along the off-road Strawberry Line. The Falcon bus comes from Bristol/Bristol Airport and Exeter/Plymouth. It stops on the A38, a 20 minute walk from the campsite.
