Just returned from a 4 night stay, and will be going back for sure. During our stay we tried out lots of the very well run activities. Campsite well maintained, fully stocked shop and fab pizza for tea.
All the staff we spoke to were polite & helpful.

The most lovely weekend away!!
Out the way from the public but also not an awful journey to get to it.
The pub through the woods is perfect, the actual campsite is very family friendly. You could come completely unprepared and it wouldn’t matter they have it all in the shop.
Pizza is delicious!!
Gary behind the till is a star!! All the staff are lovely and extremely welcoming.
We can’t wait to come back as a family!

Spent a week in our campervan there with my two young daughters. We had a really great time, lots of quality activities provided by Mendip Activity Centre. Super friendly and experienced staff. The on-site services were hugely improved since the same time last year. We mostly self-catered in the van, but when we did eat at Basecamp and the lodge is was good value, well made and good portions. The live music was really enjoyable - and so was everything else :-) We will be going back again, which will be the fourth time.

We’ve just got back from a weekend away at Mendip Basecamp. It’s a beautiful campsite set in gorgeous countryside .
We were super impressed with the entire place. The camping set up is fantastic with the freedom to pitch where you like, with friends and family and feels very free and easy. The facilities are excellent, very clean and Accessible. Every single member of staff we encounter was polite, friendly and REALLY helpful. We were pretty self-sufficient while we were there but if we needed anything, they were more than happy to help!
As we were leaving, we became aware that it was the first weekend of the year for them and a lot of the staff were brand-new, making the service we received even more impressive!
We absolutely loved the Mendip Lodge with live music on the Saturday night and pie Minister pies, even better!
Definitely try the tobogganing which was really well run and the kids absolutely loved!
We can’t wait to go back with our friends again and try out some of the other activities.
I would highly recommend this site to anyone!
Nearby activities: Tons of activities on site lots of which are free the rest of which are brilliant! Live music at Mendip Lodge every weekend in the evening! We also walked to Churchill to the beautiful and very picturesque Crown Inn where we were made very welcome!

This was our second trip to base camp and won’t be our last. We’ve still not got round to any of the activities on offer. The staff are super friendly and will do anything to help make your stay as easy as possible.

This is a fantastic place to go with family and friends. The facilities are just what you need with the shop being incredibly useful. Toilets were cleaned regularly and the lodge is only a short walk down the hill.
We will absolutely be staying again!

We camped in one of the bell tents for a couple of days.
We took part in archery and kayaking with our children (10&12) and had a fantastic time. Credit to Dan (Archery) and Ali (Kayaking)- they were both brilliant, enthusiastic and engaging.
