Royal Bath and West Show – Shepton Mallet, Somerset 29-30 May
Meet cows, pigs, goats and other farm animals at this famous agricultural show thats been running for over 160 years! Get up close with live sheep shearing demonstrations, horse riding competitions and livestock show classes, plus steam rallies, kids’ activities, delicious food and drink and more. There isn’t any onsite accommodation available for the Royal Bath and West Show, but there are local campsites, bed and breakfasts, hotels and self-catering options available in and around Shepton Mallet.
Home Farm Fest – Chilthorne Domer, Somerset 6-8 June
Home Farm Fest is a charity-driven music festival with over 150 acts across 9 stages in Chilthorne Domer. This year, they will celebrate their 20th anniversary and offer family-friendly activities like silent discos, a childrens area and a fun fair, plus a wellness area for that all-important wind-down. With tent camping and glamping options available, immerse your family in the wonderful festival vibes.
Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts – Glastonbury, Somerset 25-29 June
No list of Somerset festivals with accommodation would be complete without this iconic entry. Glastonbury Festival has been showing us all how it’s done for decades, and they aren’t about to stop anytime soon! This legendary multi-stage music festival features global greats, local superstars and family-friendly acts and activities. There are loads of camping and glamping options available, plus a dedicated family camping area.

Somerstock Festival – Somerton, Somerset 12-13 July
Somerstock Festival is a small music and arts festival featuring local bands, tasty food and drink, and family activities. With a dedicated Kids’ Zone, all ages will find something fun to do, like the bouncy castle, face painting and silent disco. There are limited tent and campervan pitches onsite, and you will find local offsite options including campsites, self-catering accommodation, and bed and breakfasts.
Godney Gathering – Godney, Somerset 18-19 July
Check out live music across multiple stages at the Godney Gathering, featuring a silent disco, comedy, cabaret, and Kids’ Area with games, arts and crafts and their own disco. Camping accommodation is available at Garslade Farm as a separate booking.
Priddy Folk Festival – Priddy, Somerset 11-13 July
Priddy Folk Festival is billed as the friendliest folk festival in the UK, with live music, displays and activities throughout the village for the whole family. They even have a dedicated Kids Festival tent! There is camping available onsite, plus some local options such as bed and breakfasts and other campsites.
Bristol International Balloon Fiesta – Bristol, Somerset 8-10 August
Witness impressive dawn and dusk mass ascents of over 100 hot air balloons on the opening day of the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta, and spend time in the main arena with marching bands, balloon-themed activities, stunt displays and more. There isn’t accommodation onsite, but there are loads of nearby options like bed and breakfasts, self-catering accommodation, campsites and hotels.
Chard Rock Festival – Chard, Somerset 9-10 August
Rock out with local legends and tribute bands at Chard Rock Festival, a small, relaxed event in Chard. Kids are welcome, and camping onsite is convenient. Other local accommodation options include campsites, bed and breakfasts and self-catering options.
ArcTanGent – Bristol, Somerset 13-16 August
Taking place at the beautiful Fernhill Farm near Bristol, ArcTanGent is for those with eclectic music tastes. There isn’t a dedicated family camping area or children’s entertainment, so this festival may be more suitable for families with older kids looking to expand their musical experiences. Camping and glamping are available onsite at the festival, plus bed and breakfasts, self-catering accommodation and campsites in the surrounding area.
Mendip Family Festival – Churchill, Somerset 29-31 August
For Glastonbury vibes without the crowds, check out the Mendip Family Festival at Mendip Basecamp. This small family festival offers live music, an outdoor cinema, onsite adventure activities, and free festival activities. Basecamp festival accommodation includes tent camping, campervans and glamping options, and if you have a day ticket, there are options offsite such as bed and breakfasts, hotels and self-catering accommodation.
